I wasn't bored at all.. in fact it's intriguing.. It's just that for a good hour since I didnt know anything about the movie beforehand, I was wondering what it is really about. Is it about a Cello player who lost his way, is he coming back to his path soon? I was just waiting for something to happen.. Also, some scenes I thought needed several seconds trimmed, but like i said, it was really a good build up for the third act.. this is really a good film..

ok thank you for the recommendation!! i'll look it up and try to DL it! =DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18051178555536306029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468273120588337062.post-87685353293641102102013-08-30T03:24:23.468+08:002013-08-30T03:24:23.468+08:00Ha, I was already in tears 5 minutes in (Departure...Ha, I was already in tears 5 minutes in (Departures, I mean, obviously). The grace with which the main character performs his job was extremely beautiful to see. I don't remember the first half being slow, I thought it was nice build up for the later scenes. Also, Asian movies are usually pretty long and I watched this in a period where I watched a lot of them - so maybe I was conditioned. On a side note, I can also recommend Nobody Knows, if you haven't seen it. It's even longer than Departures, but it has some amazing child actors and a heartwrenching story based on true events. It brought to light ( for me) many emotions in witnessing the growth of the star...( the guy that's name fails me because I am american wth little knowledge of how to pronounce Japanese names!!!lol

On a serious note, this film made me go several diff places, all find memories and also painful ones, but overall it was mentally stimulating in so many ways for me... I give this movie at 5/5 just because of the originality of this picture... :)
Tabby https://www.blogger.com/profile/12498446328063811627noreply@blogger.com
